I love to write. When I was in kindergarten I read 100 books a month. Not War and Peace, mind you, but cover to cover reads.
I wrote my first novel at age 14. In my 20s I submitted song lyrics to a Vancouver radio station, won sixth prize out of hundreds of entrants, and Runaway Road was slotted into radio airplay. More novels and writing conferences followed. I was captivated by screenplay writing and the need for good stories, crisp dialogue and unique hooks. The journey’s been a blast so far… and I’d love to share it with you. I’m prompt with rewrites, easy to talk to and promise no drama (except in the scripts!) My specialties include family drama, teen adventure and anything equestrian. My agent’s name is Barbara (Babz) Bitela – she is a wonderfully positive, talented lady and her radio show babzbuzz can be listened to online at simplyscripts.com.
Formal education of mine includes a Master of Business Administration degree, Bachelor of Commerce degree, and the Certified Association Executive credential. I’ve spent time working for public, private and not-for-profit organizations, all of which have added to my life experience in their own unique ways.
I’m a former National Reserve and Western Canadian dressage champion. Dressage is best described as ballet on horseback. Years spent training horses in both subzero and sweltering temperatures taught me dedication and perseverance. This work ethic has translated into my writing and the journey continues.
